International Patrons

DUE TO CANADIAN POSTAL WORKERS STRIKE, US POSTAL SERVICE IS NOT ACCEPTING CANADIAN ORDERS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. If you live in Canada, the reason only UPS appears as a rate is because we are unable to ship USPS to Canada because Canada postal service is not accepting shipments. Thank you.

Shipping Companies Available to United States Shippers:

  • USPS (United States Postal Service, a government-operated, nearly-bankrupt system)
  • UPS (United Parcel Service, a standard and express global public corporation)
  • FedEx (Formerly Federal Express, an express global public corporation)
  • DHL (a subsidiary of Deutsche Post, an express global public corporation)

Shipping Methods:

USPS Priority Mail International: Often the most economical by a few dollars, the USPS only tracks the package and guarantees it while in the United States. Once it is delivered to the exit point to proceed to destination country, it is no longer traced or guaranteed to deliver, and will not be reimbursed if it never arrives. There are no delivery time-frame guarantees - while the USPS will claim 7-10 days or 12-14 days, in our 30 years of experience we have witnessed 1-2 months in-transit without explanation. We have also witnessed 3 weeks of sitting at the exit point waiting on customs clearance before continuing to the destination country. USPS is a very unreliable method. American Vision does not recommend any USPS option and is not responsible to reship complimentary replacement packages should an order selecting this method not arrive in a proper amount of time. Please refer to our Shipping Information Page.

USPS Flat Rate Boxes: Sized an inch smaller than a standard book, these boxes do not allow for ample packing material. We have experienced damage and loss and no longer utilize this option due to the numerous issues that arise from using them. Once the order is delivered to the exit point to proceed to destination country, it is no longer traced or guaranteed to deliver, and will not be reimbursed if it never arrives.

USPS First Class International: Lightweight items, such as DVDs, can often ship via this method for a fraction of the cost. Weight restrictions limit this method to orders under 4 pounds. Once it is delivered to the exit point to proceed to destination country, it is no longer traced or guaranteed to deliver, and will not be reimbursed if it never arrives.

UPS Worldwide: Guaranteed to deliver within the specified time-frame, and if it does not or arrives damaged, reimbursement will be made allowing immediate reshipment. While this is slightly more costly, the UPS is an honorable company and always deals justly with their patrons whereas the USPS does not. You'll understand why this is a preferred method.

UPS Worldwide Expedited: A faster delivery method of standard Worldwide.

Due to the more costly rates of DHL and FedEx we do not offer them at this time.

Please note that these are shipping rates - the cost of leaving our 3rd party fulfillment center and arriving in your destination zip code. Any customs clearance, taxes, import fees, brokerage fees and other charges levied against the purchasing party for having purchased an item from another country are not included and are the sole responsibility of the purchasing party. Any concerns related to shipping rates should please be directed to UPS or USPS and any concerns related to taxes or brokerage fees should be directed to the country officials presiding over the destination country. Thank you.
