About the Title: We are seeing an alarming number of acts of intolerance aimed at Christian and conservative students on college and university campuses. Intellectual conformity is taking precedence over academic freedom and in the process creating a wave of academic totalitarianism that is bad for faculty, students, educational institutions, and our country. Christians and conservatives are having their views suppressed in ways that range from minor harassment to serious intimidation. These types of abuse are happening frequently enough that Christians and conservatives have begun to wonder if they must endure four years of intellectual hibernation, voluntarily suppressing their worldviews in order to graduate. Academic freedom and intellectual diversity are the heart and soul of higher education. They protect and ensure freedom of thought, speech, and inquiry. Intellectual conformity, on the other hand, undermines these freedoms. This lecture will help Christians and conservatives fight back against the pressures to conform that they may be subjected to on college and university campuses.
