Icould barely stand the anticipation that this fresh release from Gary DeMar brought as I waited patiently to order my copy online. What with the whole Western world in a tizzy about this New Age of doom the crisp blue and red cover was as a cool sip of water. There seems to be a time and a season where topics like a scary one-world order, an individual tyrant ruler named the Antichrist, natural disasters heralding the second coming of Christ, and the very end of the world itself are all the rage. If you have ever seen a person wandering a city sidewalk clad in sandwich board yielding message, “THE END IS NEAR”, then you must read this book. If you are a conspiracy junky always sniffing out the hottest new (or tired old) theories on the demise of Western Civilization, then you must read this book. In fact, if you are a Christian just waiting for your moment to be bailed out of a world that is going to Hell in the proverbial hand basket, you must read this book. Gary Demar takes a very serious scholarly look at one area of Bible prophecy in particular that is used by many popular Christian writers and television/radio hosts in order to purport a “very soon” end of the world as we know it. He battles tirelessly and with great precision on many fronts defending the Word of truth as it was so graciously entrusted to our forbears over two thousand years ago. The greatest accomplishment of this work is that no end is left untied. There is no supposition as very direct statements are made concerning the prior fulfillment of prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Gary DeMar uses scripture to interpret scripture. As long as we have access to the Holy Bible in our own native tongue there is never a reason why we should sit back as believers, or skeptics, and accept a second-hand regurgitation of such a vibrant and readily available truth. We cannot succumb to the fantasy, control, and fear as peddled by the apocalyptic pundits. Oh, and don't believe the hype.
