Review
Administration (Powder Springs GA) 6/28/2010 12:35 PM
Response to Catherine Robinson: American Vision was not involved in any debates post this above referenced debate filmed at the 2007 Conference, and thus does not have the ability to provide a resource from it. Typically in any case, it takes 2-4 months after an event to turn a product. I suggest a Google search for information. Please note that this debate was a resource provided from a conference; American Vision can only provide a platform for debate where it best suits the resources and time provided to us and as this is not a main focus of AV, whereas it is many other ministries, we feel it is not the best use of our time and resources and opt instead to allow the many Creation ministries around to provide such platforms for debates and resources from them. Thank you.

How about that update, please?
Catherine Robinson (Waipahu, HI) 6/9/2010 5:50 PM
Evidently the follow-up debate between Dr. Faulkner and Dr. Ross in front of their peers has been held, in March of 2010, but nowhere are the DVD, a transcript, the final peer analysis, available. When will they be? I'd be very interested in obtaining a copy of all. Thanks.

A poor showing for YEC
Jason Lollar (Springfield, VA) 6/1/2010 3:33 PM
I felt Dr. Faulkner failed to capitalize on many of the real problems with the OEC view. He didn't seem to have a plan of attack for dismantling Ross' view. Dr. Ross comes across better prepared to make his case, but also failed, in my opinion, to prove his case. I care very little about what the prevailing sentiments are in the "scientific elite" crowd. He keeps saying that a debate in front of peers will really settle the issue. That's ridiculous! If that is what you are citing for evidence, you may as well be an evolutionist. I know Dr. Ross isn't and he honestly believes what he is teaching, but anyone with an ounce of training in presuppositional apologetics can see he starts off on the wrong foot, and Dr. Faulkner just scratches the surface with the exegetical, theological and philosophical problems with Ross' interpretations.

Hated stepchild in the closet
Catherine Robinson (Waipahu, HI) 5/29/2009 8:06 PM
Why does American Vision still "offer" this DVD despite not stocking it? No matter. Dr. Ross, in his characteristic quiet, inoffensive style, runs away with this "debate." And although Dr. Faulkner agrees to another debate in front of their peers in the field, and Dr. Ross still has this offer up on his Web site, while Dr. Faulkner on his own Web site simply rails against Dr. Ross in posturing impotence, has essentially, for the record gone silent and invisible in keeping his promise to Dr. Ross to debate in front of their peers. Try to get hold of this DVD; it will become clear who is twisting Scripture and science and who stands with the Lord of Creation. Please, American Vision, bring this hated stepchild out of the closet and let Truth assert Himself. And in the interest of Truth and honor, American Vision, get going on that long-ago promised debate between Dr. Faulkner and Dr. Ross in front of an audience of their peers. What do you or any of us have to lose? Or fear? Thanks.

About the Title: Do the biblical and natural records demonstrate that the earth is young or old?

Dr. Hugh Ross and Dr. Danny Faulkner, both creation research scientists, agree on many biblical issues, but the age of the earth is not one of them! Did God create the world billions of years ago, or only a few thousand? Watch this debate and decide for yourself where the truth lies.

To Quote Dr. Faulkner:
I'm fearful that many people who look at Scripture are convinced already that there must be vast periods of time in the history of the world, so they then have to read the Scripture this way, and not the proper way.

To Quote Dr. Ross:
No scientist, based on nature's record alone, has ever concluded the cosmos or Earth is young apart from the Bible; likewise, I haven't either... This is not a scientific debate, but a matter of how we interpret Scripture.

Debators: Dr. Danny Faulkner, Dr. Hugh Ross
